This top portion will always say the same thing. The Quick Update section is what’s really being updated with new content.

This is my way of keeping myself organized. I’ll be limiting myself to 5 anime at a time. I can’t start a new one until I’ve finished at least one of the five on this ever changing list. When I finish one I’ll make a post about it, though depending on how long the series is, I might make a post in the middle of the series.

I’ll be keeping track of each anime and the episode I’m on both on this blog and on MyAnimeList (MAL). Below, there’s a link to MAL so you can look at all the things I’m currently watching, have watched, plan on watching and how I ranked each anime.

I don’t want to watch only recent series, so at least one or two of these entries will be about some throwback series. The rest will  be relatively recent (let’s say released in the last 3 years).

Quick Update:

I’m kind of back in the groove now. I feel like that past week just flew by! I got some good watching done, so I’m excited to add a new anime to my list! I told you I would finish Boku no Hero Academia! That review probably won’t even be touched until next week. Also, expect the 91 Days review tomorrow, probably really late at night so I can finish writing it. I’m also working on two other pieces… recent anime news that I have come across and I hope to have those done this week as well. Did some one say more Code Geass?!?!?!!?

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash

I’m expecting people in this party to keep dying every episode now, or at least almost every episode. I wasn’t expecting them to start dying so soon, but now that it’s happened, I don’t think it’ll stop. Especially when they’re still not very proficient at living, but I guess they were at the point where things got too steady and we can’t have that. Something has to happen. There’s a moment in episode 4, when Haruhiro said he’d ask Manato a question later, and then tagged on at the end “At least I thought I would” (or something along those lines), I knew immediately Manato was going to die. I kind of wish they were more subtle with it though. If they’d left off that last part, it would’ve been less obvious and more of a surprise. Come on now guys, don’t you know how to foreshadow?! And then they show little shots of other people who look important. It looks like some thought was put into their character design, so they must be significant to the story, right?

Just in case you didn’t know I love ecchi things (I promise my parents are still proud of me). That’s why I enjoyed Prison School so much, so when I saw this I knew I had to add it to the list. It’s just pure ecchiness for the sake of ecchi. Not really expecting an amazing plot, just a lot of laughs and wtf moments.

Boku no Hero Academia

I was wondering how they were going to wrap this season up and they kind of did and kind of didn’t. This show must be very confident that a second season will get funded. Good for them. Recently, all these anime have been trying to cram 10 volumes of series into a 12 episode season, because they don’t know if they will be renewed. Have some faith, guys. Take your time to write the anime out well. I think this is a great setup for what is to come in the second season. We have Midoriya using his power once and not hurting himself and it’s about time that happened, I was getting tired of wincing every time he did something with his body. And we have a little more introduction to his other classmates. I’m super glad they aren’t just brushing past these people and are actually giving them distinct personalities. Everyone will eventually get their moment to shine in a few episodes. And I swear by the end of this series All Might is going to die….he’s basically dying every episode anyway.

Yuri!!! on Ice

First thing I have to say is, this art looks a lot like Kiseijuu’s art…. Actually, even the main characters almost look the same. For a hot minute I thought they were the same character, until I read the caption under the picture that said what anime it was from.

You can’t tell me they don’t look almost the exact same. Just some different lighting is all.

After watching the first episode I could tell from the way the characters were drawn frame to frame that the art style maybe be extremely similar, but the animation direction is totally different. I kind of like the kiddish tone the anime has to it; the over-exaggerated mouth and body movements give it a unique look… Which is the complete opposite to how they animated the skating sequences. Those are works of art, beautiful and smooth. Going a little left field, the opening shocked me because I’m so used to not understanding anything and it was in English. I don’t like the song at all…. It felt kind of awkward and the message was kind generic…. The sounds just weren’t good to my ears.
