This top portion will always say the same thing. The Quick Update section is what’s really being updated with new content.
This is my way of keeping myself organized. I’ll be limiting myself to 5 anime at a time. I can’t start a new one until I’ve finished at least one of the five on this ever changing list. When I finish one I’ll make a post about it, though depending on how long the series is, I might make a post in the middle of the series.
I’ll be keeping track of each anime and the episode I’m on both on this blog and on MyAnimeList (MAL). Below, there’s a link to MAL so you can look at all the things I’m currently watching, have watched, plan on watching and how I ranked each anime.
I don’t want to watch only recent series, so at least one or two of these entries will be about some throwback series. The rest will be relatively recent (let’s say released in the last 3 years).
WARNING: Due to the content of some of the anime I am currently watching, this post might not be suitable for all ages. If you continue to read on, you are doing so at the risk of tainting your mind (which, once again, is not my fault).
This is the first post under my new schedule! Since the updates are less often, I thought adding a bit more detail to my reactions about the episodes I watch was warranted. Plus, for some reason, I had a lot to say about some of the anime I watched, though not all of them got the same love. I felt super motivated to write this week. Also, Ajin just came out recently, so I want to quickly slide that in this month….
So Nozomi has pulled off a super advanced and rare move, that’ll probably cause people to take her more seriously. For some strange reason, the teachers can’t believe it, and will probably pass it off as some kind of fluke. Or one teacher will see her potential and take the time to help her hone her skills. Of course, she doesn’t even realize what she was doing and it’s an extremely dangerous technique for her to use. I take it the teacher that told her not to use the technique used it and ended her pro career early because she hurt herself. They showed clips of this, and then she gave her a suit that will help her train her body so she doesn’t hurt herself while doing the vacuum butt cannon. I knew it! I knew there would be a teacher willing to help her!
I’m glad someone else realized that Nozomi shouldn’t be in the regular class. And neither should Sayaka. Look at her getting jealous that the other said she was the best outfighter. She went out to prove her wrong and trained so hard that now when she gets a wedgie her butt glows? I’m not sure how I feel about one episode of her training and she is already able to beat someone in the elite class… It kind of undermines the ability of the people in that class.
And then we have Non, who is the most passive one. Not only is her personality really soft, but so is her whole body. Her butt will consume any other butt. How can someone’s butt do that? It looks very unnatural… her butt is like another entity. It absorbs blows. She literally didn’t do anything and won the fight. Since her buns are so soft, her butt would be perfect for that twerk team… every movement she makes would just make it jiggle.
The girl with the unnatural ponytail that reacts like its attached to the back of a dog… I need her and her demon hair to stop. And I didn’t really anticipate her winning the fight. I thought for sure that the blonde chick was really strong since she was ranked number one. If Kazane would’ve won, this anime is doing the competitive sports anime genre all wrong. Luckily, she was outdone by Titty Hypnosis. Wow, this anime is doing everything right. These names are amazing.
Yuri!!! on Ice
The kid with red streak in his hair is cute. Look, he’s already making other fans. And I am now 100% on board with Victor and Yuuri’s cute relationship! You could tell from the beginning of this series that Victor was a heartthrob. I wasn’t expecting him to flirt with the main character so much though. On top of that, Victor is always encouraging Yuuri to be seductive like he actually really wants him to, and not just to encourage his ice skating skills… I’m ready for some actions scenes.
I burst out laughing when he said he was going to become “a beautiful pork cutlet bowl”. Could he really not think of anything else he could have become? How is that sexy? And he looks so proud of himself when he says it.
The show proceeds to show us past scenes that have so much sexual tension between Yuri and Victor. Is it Yuuri thinking about these particular scenes when ice skating? Is this making his performance sexier? Apparently not, since he was scolded at the end of his performance. He really thinks too much while ice skating. I agree with Victor’s decision to have him focus more on the performance piece than the technical parts. I think you can leave more of an impression with the feeling and emotion you put into a routine than just hard technical portions.
With all the silliness that Yuuri has been showing up until this point, I didn’t think he could make such serious faces. He just looked angry. I didn’t even know what the theme of his free skate performance was supposed to be. If I knew, I’d be able to tell if his attitude was right for his performance, but I guess he found his own place to be in while skating. I was really into his performances and then he freaking hit a wall with his face and managed to recover from that and finish his routine. That’s super impressive, although it took me out of the performance.
The 5th episode ends with a press conference where Yuri says his theme for the next competition will be love. Hmmmmm… I think I know where he can find some motivation. Episode 6 starts with them arriving in China and risqué pictures taken right before the competition. See? He did find some inspiration for that love. Someone even groped him at the competition. There’s so much love to go around. On a more serious note: why is there so much sexual harassment?
We finally get to the part where Yuuri is about to skater and suddenly declares “Don’t ever take your eyes off me”. The only scene that should have come after that was them both ripping off their clothes and having each other right there for everyone to see. And this was not the only part where he alluded to such activities.
Georgi’s makeup looked hideous.
He looked like a clown, and then his freaking deep voice on top of that… it looked silly. I don’t think he can beat out Victor as number 1 of Russia with all the mess he has going on. And then the random outburst of screams. I couldn’t keep it together and had to rewatch his entire performance.
I didn’t like Chris’s performance….at all… All I saw was butt, and him continuously touching himself. I don’t find that appealing at all… At least, not from him. Gross… freaking twerking poses.
I liked Yuuri’s eros better because it was innocent. This is just….tasteless.
Yup, definitely done with him at this point. I’m completely grossed and creeped out now. Now he’s got dirty pants…..
I agree and I would not be skating on it after that man.
The beginning was a little confusing. I didn’t understand why the main character was in western clothes. I had no idea why they were fighting. When we got further into the anime, I started to recognize some historical names (I’ve forgotten some if not most of my Japanese history, and it doesn’t help that I only took the class once). This anime and Yuuri on Ice have something in common, strangely. They both have parts where it goes from being somewhat serious to just downright silly. To be honest, I’m not a fan of these jarring changes in tone. In fact, in drives me nuts. With this and with Yuuri on Ice, why do they have those parts in there?
