This top portion will always say the same thing. The Quick Update section is what’s really being updated with new content.

This is my way of keeping myself organized. I’ll be limiting myself to 5 anime at a time. I can’t start a new one until I’ve finished at least one of the five on this ever changing list. When I finish one I’ll make a post about it, though depending on how long the series is, I might make a post in the middle of the series.

I’ll be keeping track of each anime and the episode I’m on both on this blog and on MyAnimeList (MAL). Below, there’s a link to MAL so you can look at all the things I’m currently watching, have watched, plan on watching and how I ranked each anime.

I don’t want to watch only recent series, so at least one or two of these entries will be about some throwback series. The rest will  be relatively recent (let’s say released in the last 3 years).

WARNING: Due to the content of some of the anime I am currently watching, this post might not be suitable for all ages. If you continue to read on, you are doing so at the risk of tainting your mind (which, once again, is not my fault).

Another Monthly update is here!

I will no longer make promises about… certain things coming out soon because we all know by now that it’s going to take at least 4 months for me to finish anything. So just know I’m still writing things and they’ll come when they come.  Like the last part to the Haikyuu review that I’ve literally been promising for…..3 months now… I think… I don’t know… I’m not counting. And the first season of Boku no Hero Academia which… I might as well wait to finish season 2 at this point.

I tried to be consistent with Anime Throwbacks every week but I missed one week… which wasn’t entirely my fault. I was going to upload it when I got to my parents’ house in Chicago, but 70 miles out of Fort Wayne, my car decided it didn’t want to move forward and actively resisted rolling forward, so I pulled over and waited for a tow truck to come rescue me and drag my poor sorry car to civilization to be fixed. I didn’t get home until 2AM the next day thanks to that debacle, so I missed my window to finish and publish it. But other than fate getting in the way of things, I will continue to release Anime Throwbacks every Thursday… some time that day.

Now, I know you don’t come here to listen to my 50 billion excuses. You came here for the anime updates. What series I finished watching, what series I’m still watching and what will be new on the list. There’s a lot I didn’t finish… I literally only finished one series (because there was only an episode and a half for me to watch) but I dipped my toes into serval series this time, so hopefully next month it’ll be an almost completely new list.

Log Horizon

This update can’t be that big since there really wasn’t much for me to finish.

I really do love this series and its depiction of a MMORPG. It seemed like a game I would’ve played back in middle school when I enjoyed doing quests with other people and interacting with people’s avatars online. And this anime takes it so much more further than any other anime where people are stuck in the game.  Nothing epic has happened yet, but they made parts of basic modern civilization interesting to look at. Like Spice and Wolf, they made economics and trading interesting… and I actually learned something from it. It was much more interesting than how they tried to teach it in school (All schools should be taking note of that). I think the second season will take this idea of people trying to create a place where they can live peacefully and build it up to a more worldly scale. In the last episode they talked about other locations, so we all know it’s coming.

One Punch Man

Well… the saying is true: third time’s the charm. I’m actually liking the series more on my third and final attempt of watching it. I don’t know what was wrong with me the other two times I watched it. Was I like…half-asleep because I certainly was not catching all the basic shounen troupes they were throwing into the series and just destroying in the funniest ways possible.  Still have no idea where the plot is going but I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the stupidity that is One Punch Man (Maybe we’ll get plot halfway through the series….)

Boku no Hero Academia

The tournament has already started and I must say, I’m already in love with the rivalries. Bakugo and Todoroki were, of course, destined to become rivals… I mean it’s fire and ice after all, but I also think that Todoroki and Midoriya make good rivals as well. Todoroki is very confident and masterful in his skills while Midoriya is still learning what he can do and isn’t at all competent with his abilities. I like contrasts like this. The show is setting it up so that they will have a lot to work with and a lot of possible character growth. Luckily I waited a bit to start this one so I still have some episodes to watch until I’m all caught up. The hype is real with this season.

Closing Remarks

I picked this series solely based on hearing  that it was funny. We will see if it’s my type of funny though. I really hope so because I liked the character designs.
