This top portion will always say the same thing. The Anime Updates section is what’s really being updated with new content.

This is my way of keeping myself organized. I’ll be limiting myself to 5 anime at a time. I can’t start a new one until I’ve finished at least one of the five on this ever changing list. When I finish one I’ll make a post about it, though depending on how long the series is, I might make a post in the middle of the series.

I’ll be keeping track of each anime and the episode I’m on both on this blog and on MyAnimeList (MAL). Below, there’s a link to MAL so you can look at all the things I’m currently watching, have watched, plan on watching and how I ranked each anime.

I don’t want to watch only recent series, so at least one or two of these entries will be about some throwback series. The rest will  be relatively recent (let’s say released in the last 3 yearsish).

WARNING: Due to the content of some of the anime I am currently watching, this post might not be suitable for all ages. If you continue to read on, you are doing so at the risk of tainting your mind (which, once again, is not my fault).

Let me know what anime you’re watching now! Anything you recommend? I’ll add it to my ever growing anime list.

The days are going by in such a blur. I feel like all I’ve been doing for the past 2 months is watching one episode of an anime and then going to find as many analyses of that show as possible done by the people in the lovely YouTube anime community. Every week I manage to find one more ani-youtuber that I like….and of course since I liked that one video they did, I have to make sure I like all their content, so I just go down their list of videos. I’m super jealous of the ones who can break down every little part of an anime and have it actually make sense. When I listen to them explain a show it sounds so intelligent. One day I hope I’m able to approach shows with the same deep level mindset that they have….but while waiting for me to reach that point…..I’ll continue doing my best with what I have…speaking of which….

Anime Updates

I will now start updating the list with new fall series….they will only get 2 or 3 entries out of the total of 5. This is probably where the progress in which I go through anime will slow down because I’ll be limited to the rate at which episodes are released. That’s why I still have other slots for things that are already finished so we will have some guaranteed anime changes every month. (Of course unless I just don’t finish a lot of anime that month which is totally possible)

Completed Anime

Kakegurui (episodes 5-12)
I’ve got to be honest, I really liked the style of the show and the interesting personalities of the characters, but I can’t help but feel a little let down by how quickly and undramtically (this is not an actual word)  the show ended. I learned very early in the series that the stakes presented in this anime would never be Yumeko’s. These were given to the supporting characters who actually cared about their lives outside of gambling, which meant that the anime had to quickly make you care about those characters somehow in less than an episode. The success rate was a pretty mixed bag and most of the time I just wasn’t connecting to some the side characters they presented in that particular episode. Sometimes I just wanted to see how the characters would react when Yumeko would somehow pull some trick out her ass and win. I know this sounds like I didn’t like the show…..but it’s quite the contrary. Every episode was pretty exciting to watch and at no time was I ever bored. I flew through episodes to see what strange character would be defeated next. Side Note: And hopefully it wasn’t just me, but when they explained the rules of the game, it just flew over my head. I had no idea what any of the rules were in most of the games they introduced in the show…..I had a super basic understanding and got clues on whether or not a move by the character was good based on that character’s reactions. It usually takes me a minute to fully understand a concept or game so I might be alone on this one.

Boku no Hero Academia Season 2 (episodes 20-25)
Okay, so we had a little mini arc with exams, which I’m impressed with because they managed to cram so much crap into these last 5ish episodes. I think I even care about all the people in the class…with an exception of a few. Typically series that have a lot of characters always run the risk of not fleshing everybody but the main characters out, but I don’t feel this series has any of those issues. They purposefully give the right amount of attention to each character depending on their perceived complexity. For example,  with the information we have been given thus far in the series about  Aoyama and Sero they appear to be very shallow personality wise, thus they were given the least amount of screen time. Whether or not that is due to a lack of them being shown that they don’t have much depth  or due to their actual characters lack of depth the reason why they aren’t given much screen time is up for debate but not everyone in the series can be of the same importance.

Continuing Series

Re:Creators (0 episodes)
Yeah….didn’t finish this by the end of the month….obviously……will try again this month?

Kodocha (episodes 30-53)
I’ve finally gotten to the episodes I haven’t seen before……unfortunately, they are no longer dubbed. All episodes after 51 are in Japanese and I’m already starting to miss the English voice acting. The voices feel so different in Japanese. If I had enough money I would pay all the English voice actors to come back and finish this anime. It’ll probably take at least 10 episodes to get used to the voices. This will be one of the few times where I will hands down prefer the English…….besides me complaining about the change of voices, the way the first half of the series ended was extremely dramatic….with all the comedy and nonsensical things that happen every episode you can easily forget that this is a drama….and when it decides to ramp up the drama part, it really goes hard. I cry easily, so it probably doesn’t tell you much when I say I was teary-eyed by the end. From what I’ve heard of the later part of the plot, I have an idea of the larger conflict from the second half but I have no idea how it ends or how it even began so I am super emotionally ready for this series to continue.

Mob Psycho 100 (episodes 1-4)
Everybody just wants to use poor Mob……poor poor boy……I can’t wait for him to find out that almost everyone around him is a phony…..And since this is by the same create of One Punch Man, I expect the actual plot to start up super late in the series again…..I guess that’s their staple… let the audience get a taste of the characters for a while before giving us an overarching plot. I don’t mind it this time…..I won’t have to do a second attempt on this anime to finish it (A note from the editor: I cannot wait for season 2).

Anime Replacements

All these new replacements will be the series that are debuting in fall 2017. I had to add the ones I’m the most excited to see to the list first…I want to join the hype train as well while it’s still rolling.

Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus’ Bride)
I’ve recently learned that there were 3 OVA episodes associated with this series, so I’ll be including those in this series as well. I have plenty of time to watch it because this show is only on its first episode so far. I haven’t heard anything about this episode yet but the way people were hyping it up based on the OVA’s I expect this to be one hell of a series.

Black Clover
Ok, don’t look at me that way. You saw this one coming a mile away. Of course I had to put it on this list! They are saying this could be the anime to replace Naruto and Bleach! Like, really? It’s that good that it can just take up two of the top spots? My Hero Academia might have something to say about that, but let me give the show a chance first before I start up.

The two shows I just added into this month’s rotations are not the only fall shows I’ll be watching this Fall. I’ve got a whole list which I am currently working on to post this week. Some of which I already know will be trash…but it will be my kind of trash.

Mob Psycho 100

Black Clover
