This top portion will always say the same thing. The Anime Updates section is what’s really being updated with new content.

This is my way of keeping myself organized. I’ll be limiting myself to 5 anime at a time. I can’t start a new one until I’ve finished at least one of the five on this ever changing list. When I finish one I’ll make a post about it, though depending on how long the series is, I might make a post in the middle of the series.

I’ll be keeping track of each anime and the episode I’m on both on this blog and on MyAnimeList (MAL). Below, there’s a link to MAL so you can look at all the things I’m currently watching, have watched, plan on watching and how I ranked each anime.

I don’t want to watch only recent series, so at least one or two of these entries will be about some throwback series. The rest will  be relatively recent (let’s say released in the last 3 yearsish).

WARNING: Due to the content of some of the anime I am currently watching, this post might not be suitable for all ages. If you continue to read on, you are doing so at the risk of tainting your mind (which, once again, is not my fault).

Let me know what anime you’re watching now! Anything you recommend? I’ll add it to my ever growing anime list.

So, besides me not posting things for three weeks (holidays where I get to go back home mess up my schedule), you might have also noticed that I haven’t be posting throwback anime every Thursday. I’m trying to figure out if I should make it an every other week thing or a go back to an every week thing. I’m thinking I haven’t possibly watched that much anime where I can talk about an old one I’ve seen every week. This website is still an experiment, which is why I keep changing things. I’ve been writing like 6 different posts and ended up not publishing any of them so hopefully I’ll be able to finish those over the weekend and get back on schedule. This past month has been….absolutely insane, with car issues and having guests over for a week….it was almost impossible to get anything I planned done on time.

Anime Updates

As for the amount of anime I finished…… I only finished one. I really couldn’t finish that many since I have two on the list that have either just finished airing or are still airing.

Completed Anime

KonoSuba (episodes 6-10)
Finally got around to finishing this quirky anime. I had a long break between watching the first half and watching the second half; I had lost motivation to watch it, not because I didn’t find it interesting but because I forgot how funny it was. Once I got back into watching it I finished it rather quickly (I actually finished it this past Thursday sitting in an auto mechanics garage). These last few episodes introduced a few more characters, one of which became was very important and finally gave our dumb heroes an actual home to stay in. I realized this show likes to have our heroes triumphantly move 10 steps ahead and get used to the feeling of succeeding before blowing them back 30 steps just when they’re starting to feel good about where their life is taking them. With all that going against them, I’m almost surprised they progressed as far as they did.

Continuing Series

Re:Creators (0 episodes)
Didn’t get around to furthering myself in this series. I plan on finishing this by the end of the month, though.

Boku no Hero Academia Season 2 (episodes 19 & 20)
Was not aware this season was going to be so long. I mean, I’m not complaining, I’m just happily surprised. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a recent anime that’s gotten more than just 12 episodes per season. This show must be selling very very well.
These two episodes seemed to focus on other characters in the class that have already been introduced like Tsuyu and Bakugo and setting up the next arc which it may or may not get into depending on the size of this final examination arc. Maybe it won’t even be an arc… maybe it’ll just turn into a 3 episode thing. I really can’t see the season going on for many more episodes. (A note from the editor: I, personally, cannot wait for Season 3 and the Kamino Ward arc.)

Kodocha (episodes 1-29)
As you can imagine, a lot has happened in nearly 30 episodes. I forgot how many random adult type themes this anime just glazes over. They all apparently went way over my head when I first watched this. How was this show intended for kids? Teacher caught basically having sex at school, blackmailing kids with naked photos of themselves and pimps? I am definitely taking all these instances way out of context, but they were brought up in one way or another and it still found a way to downplay all of these things. Beyond just being a joy to watch this anime does have a lot of heartwarming parts. And can I just shout out Sana’s voice actress Laura Bailey, because hot damn this is some good voice acting on her part. The energy and range she does rivals the voice actress for the dubbed Excel Saga series…. with both characters just being extra and over the top all the time. It’s really unfortunate that only half this anime was dubbed. I would throw money at it just to get the whole thing dubbed….. unfortunately, Funimation stopped licensing this anime a long long time ago, so I think that shipped has sailed.

Kakegurui (episodes 1-4)
This show has a high entertainment value and I absolutely love the main character…. but I feel like there’s something missing and I can’t quite put my finger on it. The art is exactly everything I wanted it to be and the other characters are eccentric enough to keep me wanting more. I guess I was expecting the same satisfying feeling I got from watch Prison school. I’m sure I’ll probably be able to identify what this is by the end of the series…. at least, that’s my hope.

Anime Replacements

I’ve got very little time to finish up summer anime…. I technically should have finished up catching in August, but I decided to give myself this last month to finish up before the fall anime really start to pick up. If I’m lucky, a lot of the stuff I want to watch won’t come out immediately and I can finish up even more anime that I’m super far behind in.

Mob Psycho 100
I heard this was really good and from the same creator as One Punch Man so I’m giving this a shot. (A note from the editor: YES.)

With the fall season approaching (it’s basically already here), let me know if you see any anime of interest coming up. I’m trying to make a list right now of things that I want to watch, but because of my pickiness the list seems pretty short….. please help me make it longer.

Mob Psycho 100

0/12 episodes watched

4/12 episodes watched

29/102 episodes watched

2/22 episodes watched

Boku no Hero Academia (Season 2)
